Glass Bottle Mosaic
September 2 @ 10:00 AM - 5:00 PMFree
Often the most blue-collar of items is the most unexpected and beautiful when showcased. Using glass bottles, foils, paint and other materials, a 24′ x 24′ wagon wheel will be created as a tribute to Fort Smith’s history of homesteading and wagon building, as well as our general pioneering spirit that has extended through our township and into the hopeful future. The wagon wheel was a functional necessity for homesteading and utilized for many a homecoming. One square foot holds 16 bottles upright.
Location for this will be at the corner of North A and North 4th Street. There will be plenty of room for volunteers, historical information, general photography and opportunities for the artists to talk with viewers.
The design will be viewed in a westward direction that should look great for photos with the sunset glinting off the glass.
