My City Is A Fort – Fort Building Contest

Kids ages 5-12 will use their imaginations to build forts out of boxes for a chance to win prizes.

The competition will be split into two age groups: 5-9 and 10-12 and up to four kids in each group.
There will be 20-30 teams. Prizes will be award to the top two winning teams in each age group

FREE hot dogs, popcorn and bottled water courtesy of Bancorp South and Chaffee Crossing Historic Preservation Organization.

Trout Fishing in America will perform a special concert in honor of the city’s 200th birthday. Only 500 tickets will be available for the concert and it is expected to sell out quickly. Tickets for $5 per person can be purchased on Eventbrite. Admission for children ages two and under is free.

Belle Starr By Herself by Ray Coleman (off-season production) Directed by Jim Moody Synopsis: In this official Fort Smith Bicentennial Event, Cindy Clark performs a one-woman show presenting a unique interpretation of Belle Starr. Was this infamous local resident of the late 1800s a cruel criminal as the media depicted, or a self-determined woman who made less than respectable choices to survive? (No reservations will be accepted and tickets are $5 at the door.)

Using glass bottles, foils, paint and other materials, a 24' x 24' wagon wheel will be created as a tribute to Fort Smith's history of homesteading and wagon building, as well as our general pioneering spirit that exists in the city today. Once complete, this will be a popular selfie stop.
